Dear TeenHealthFX,

Can pre- cum fluid get a girl pregnant? If the penis gets a little bit close to the vaginal opening and the girl was ovulating? I'm very curious.

Dear Curious Cat - Can Pre-cum Get A Girl Pregnant?,

Absolutely! Pre-cum (proper term is pre-ejaculatory fluids) contains sperm. If the sperm comes in contact with a females egg then she could become pregnant. TeenHealthFX suggests that whenever you begin sexually activity that you start by putting on a condom and practicing safer sex.

If you feel that this may have happened to you or someone you know, go get checked out by a doctor or at a teen health center. A teen health clinic can see you without your parent's permission, confidentially and on a low/no cost basis. They often provide free condoms, and can help to educate you in making the best possible decisions regarding sex, birth control and STD protection. If you live in Northern New Jersey you can contact the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at (973) 889.6350. If you live outside of Northern New Jersey, please call your local Planned Parenthood.
