Dear How Do I Know If I'm Pregnant,

Pregnancy symptoms can vary from person to person but some common symptoms appearing two weeks after conception are:

  • Missed Periods
  • Frequent Urination
  • Light Headaches
  • Change in appetite
  • Nausea
  • Fatigue
  • Breast Tenderness

These symptoms may also be caused by other changes in your body. The only way to be sure is to go to a doctor or teen health center that can perform specific tests.

If you have had unprotected sex and think that you may be pregnant, call your local teen health center right away! They will be able to discuss your concerns and options with you. A teen health center can see you without your parent's permission, confidentially and on a low/no cost basis. They often provide free condoms, and can help to educate you in making the best possible decisions regarding sex, birth control and STD protection. If you live in Northern New Jersey you can contact the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at (973) 971.6475. If you live outside of Northern New Jersey, please call your local Planned Parenthood. Be Safe!
