Dear TeenHealthFX,
I used to masturbate daily but quit for 6 months. Recently, however, I masturbated again, my semen was very thick, yellow and chunk . Is this a sign I need to drink more water, that my body quit producing sperm, or something else?

Immediately after ejaculating, semen normally is a whitish, cream colored, jell-like substance. During the 5 to 30 minute period after ejaculation, the fluid tends to liquefy or become more milky. While the semen is becoming milkier, it can appear to have small chunks in it. This is normal and is not considered a medical situation that you need treatment for. If this is not the case and you are ejaculating lumpy fluid, you may want to consult your doctor to make sure everything is normal..
