Penis & Testicle Concerns / Question
Published: February 23, 2004

Dear TeenHealthFX,

One week ago I felt a pain in my left testicle. It was strong pain, but it finished in the morning. All these 7 days I felt very law pain especially after moving the end of my testicle. There are some formation at the bottom of the testicle; something like veins. I think I feel some pain exactly in this place. And when I see my testicles in mirror I see that there are some prolongation in the end of testicle. It were all time but I think now is more visible. Also some years ago my testicles were approximately in one level. Now the left testicle is lower than the right. I have a small bruise of that testicle before the night I felt pain. But all day I did not have pain and only felt it at night. How long can I wait without going to a doctor.

Dear Left Testicle Pain - How Long Can I Wait To See A Doctor?,

TeenHealthFX is concerned about you, and you need to see a doctor as soon as possible because we cannot provide a diagnosis over the Internet - so don't wait! If you have a physician you should schedule an appointment, or if you live in northern NJ you can make an appointment by calling The Adolescent/Young Adult Health Center at (973) 971-6475. If you live outside the area call your local teen health center for an appointment.

It is unclear from your question whether you have been involved in some sort of accident or if you can remember if an injury occurred. When trauma occurs to the genitals, it is important to obtain immediate medical assessment and care to ensure that there will be no long-term problems.
