Breast Size, Shape & Concerns / Question
Published: December 10, 2001

Dear TeenHealthFX,

I'm a 14-year-old girl and I'm in the 8th grade. My breasts are lopsided; one is like 2 sizes bigger than the other. This has been like this for a year and I don't know what to do. If I should take the breast enhancing cream or get breast implants to even it out.

Dear Lopsided Breasts,

What you are experiencing is completely normal. As a woman's breasts develop they may grow at different rates. You are probably still developing and will probably see less of a difference in size when you are finished. Check out our answer to Lopsided Breast Growth. There are usually some subtle differences in a woman's breasts that are more noticeable to her than anybody else. In actuality, most everyone will find differences between their breasts

In some cases though, a woman may have a breast that is different by a cup size or more. If this is the case than you may want to consider wearing a padded bra so that it will not be as noticeable. Breast enhancing creams are probably not a good solution, as they have not been proven to work. At 14 you still have lots of time to grow. Waiting until you are finished with puberty to see if the difference in size evens will give you time to get used to your breasts. If you are still unhappy in a few years, then consult your doctor to see what other options are available to you.
