I am a freshman in college. Over the past few weeks I have been noticing frequent, ribbon like stools, accompanied by blood on the toilet paper after some wiping. Wiping takes awhile and I've been going a lot more than usual.. I'm really nervous and this is embarrassing.
Ribbon like stool, blood on the toilet paper and frequently having to void are symptoms that need to be checked by a doctor. It is the only competent way to find out exactly what is causing your symptoms and how to deal with them.. If your college is not too far from your home you could make an appointment with your regular physician. If the distance is to far then make an appointment with the health services at your college. Many colleges and universities have doctors on staff or contract directly with local hospitals or private practitioners.
TeenHealthFX can understand how the situation could be very embarrassing for you. It is important to remember that medical professionals deal with these issues all the time and are there to help you. Finding out what is causing the problem will go a long way to easing your worries as well as addressing the problem.
