Dear TeenHealthFX,
I have an acne problem and I've tried everything in my power to get over it and nothing works. Do you have any other solutions to get rid of acne?

Dear Acne Problem,
It sounds that you are having the same problem as acne prone teen. There are a lot of over the counter medications that work effectively treating acne. However it sounds like you have tried some of these products without the results you wanted. It probably is a good idea to see your doctor as soon as possible to help decrease the possibility of scarring. Generally you should see a doctor if:
- Nonprescription acne products have not worked.
- You have acne scars as well as pimples.
- You have large painful acne bumps.
- You have dark patches where pimples used to be.
- You are not sure if the problem is acne.
- You would feel better if a doctor evaluated you.
Make sure the facial products you use are labeled "noncomedogenic" (non-acne-causing). Do not use cosmetics or hair/skin products that contain petroleum jelly because this can clog your pores and make acne worse.
