Significant Others: Girlfriends & Boyfriends / Question

Dear TeenHealthFX,

I just broke up with my girlfriend who lives far away from me. My best friend says that I am stupid because I broke up with her. I did not feel it would work out because I would not get to see her often and it would be a long distance call. I want a girlfriend that I can see often, not once a month. Am I right?

Dear Long Distance Relationship,

Relationships in general take a lot of work, but long distance relationships can be hard because you may not be able to see each other often and you may feel disconnected. Also, long distance phone calls can get quite expensive.

FX thinks you made the right decision for yourself! You know what you want out of a girlfriend and it requires you to be able to see her and spend time with her. If you want to discuss this more with your friend, try to explain this to him/her. If he/she still says you made the wrong decision, let him know that it was the right decision for you and that each person handles every situation differently.
