Orgasm At The Same Time

Published: August 4, 2002
Dear TeenHealthFX,
My girlfriend and I are about to have our first sexual intercourse. Both of us are virgins. I was wondering, will our orgasms happen at the same time? Or will I have to keep going after I have had my orgasm in order for her to have one? Also, since this will be my first sexual intercourse, even though I have been jacked off before, what are the chances that I will cum early? I have also heard that it hurts a girl the first time. IS there any way that I can make it as painless as possible? As pleasurable as possible? Thanks.

Dear Orgasm At The Same Time,

TeenHealthFX wants you to settle first things first. Since you and girlfriend had decided together that you are mutually ready to handle a sexual relationship, it is very important that you go to a doctor together who can provide you options for birth control and help protect you both against STDs. If you do not feel comfortable consulting your doctor and you live in northern New Jersey you can also call Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973.971.6475 for an appointment. Outside of this area you can contact your local Planned Parenthood to get a confidential, low cost/no cost visit.

It is normal to be unsure of what sex will be like the first time. For some people it can be painful, but others experience no pain at all, it all depends on the individual and the circumstances under which the act of sex takes place. What Sex Will Be Like The First Time is an excellent resource to look at for tips on making sex a more enjoyable experience. Please remember -- having sex for the first time is an important decision and comes with enormous responsibility. It is a choice that is made based on what is best for you and your partner and what you are most comfortable with. If you are certain that you are ready to part with your virginity with this special person there is a greater chance that act would not be painful because you will be relaxed and confident with your choice. If you are doubtful, it can't hurt to wait until you and your partner are absolutely sure it is the right time.
