A And B Cup

Published: May 15, 2000
Dear TeenHealthFX,
I'm 15 and have different sized breasts.  They're both developing because on is a B and one is an A, they're just not the same size.  Is there any way to tell if I will even out and develop more?

Dear A And B Cup,

You have come across an interesting fact of human anatomy - we are not perfectly symmetrical - one side of a person is rarely exactly the same size (or shape) as the other.  Many people have different size feet or their facial features are not the same on each side.

Your breasts will probably even out a little (Lopsided Breast Growth) and no one will notice except for you.  If you wear a padded bra, that will make the difference even less apparent.   Time will tell if you are going to develop more.

During puberty our bodies experience a period of rapid growth and development.  These changes can sometimes be difficult to deal with.  If the difference really bothers you, see your doctor.  He or she can talk to you about what to expect and provide you with reassurance.
