The situation that you have placed yourself in by having unprotected sex can be scary. TeenHealthFX is concerned that you are practicing unsafe sex. Every time you partake in a sexual act and the man's semen enters any area around the vagina, you run a risk of becoming pregnant.
However, TeenHealthFX is more concerned about the hazards involved with having unprotected oral sex. You cannot get pregnant through straight oral sex if the genitals don?t come in contact with each other and there is no exchange of semen, but it is a still risky for STDs. Having oral sex does not protect against Herpes, possibly HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. The membranes in the mouth are thin and easily penetrated. There is also the chance that you or your partner can have open sores or cuts in the mouth region. It is important to get into the habit of using some form of protection. Condoms work well when performing oral sex on a man. Condoms also work well if cut on the seam to cover a females vaginal area too.
TeenHealthFX encourages you to find out more about protecting yourself and practicing safer sex all the time. Also, you and your partner should both go to a teen health center in your area to get checked out and discuss birth control methods.
