Dear Toilet Paper In My Underwear,

TeenHealthFX cannot know over the internet what is causing the extent of vaginal discharge that you have been experiencing for some time now. But we do think that it is important for you to tell one or both of your parents as soon as possible so that two things can happen. The first is for your parents to purchase some kind of pads or panty liners for you. Sanitary pads are made in various thickness levels – you may just need a thin panty liner. But it would be helpful for you to have something more comfortable and more reliable than folded up toilet paper. The second is for your parents to schedule a doctor’s appointment for you to find out if the discharge you are experiencing is normal or is something that needs to be looked into.

If you don't have a doctor and live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973-971-6475 for an appointment or contact your local teen health center or Planned Parenthood. You can also contact your insurance company for a list of in-network providers.
