Dear TeenHealthFX,

My pubic hair goes only about halfway up the triangle area (pubic region) is this normal?

Dear Pubic Hair Only Halfway Up The Triangle,

Your pubic hair growth is nothing to worry about. Everyone is different and will have different hair growth patterns.

There is considerable variation in the onset, duration and speed of puberty development. As a rule girls enter puberty earlier. Pubic hair growth in females starts from 10-11 years and slows down about 14 or 15. It begins as a fine hair growth around the genitalia. The hair gradually darkens and thickens over the next 2-3 years and spreads to cover the pubic mound.  Usually once this happens the girl will menstruate within the year.  For boys, hair growth begins at age 11- 12 and continues until they are about 16.  So, depending on your pubertal development, your hair growth may not yet be complete.
