Dear Thinking Alot About Killing Myself,

With how much you have been thinking about suicide, having felt uncared for by others, and stating that you have never heard anyone tell you how much they love you, TeenHealthFX can only imagine how much pain you must be in right now. However, FX wants to stress that we do NOT feel that suicide is the answer here, as we feel very confident that things can get better for you. We are sure that you have wonderful qualities and that you are a lovable person, and we know that there are people out there who are capable of acting in a caring way towards you and who will be able to recognize all of your wonderful attributes and encourage them to grow.

FX thinks that it is very important for you tell someone right away about how you have been feeling. Whether you tell a family member, school staff member, neighbor, or any other trusted adult – it is critical that someone be informed about how you are feeling so that they can intervene on your behalf and set up counseling services to help you deal with all of this. Again, things can get better for you – but please take the next step by reaching out to someone in your area who can directly help you with this.

If you live in northern New Jersey and need help finding a therapist you can call the Access Center from Atlantic Behavioral Health at 973-247-1400. Outside of this area you can log onto the US Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration website for referrals in your area.

If you get to the point that you are seriously considering suicide or are afraid of your impulses then you need to seek help immediately. You can call 911 or go to your nearest hospital emergency room. In northern New Jersey you can also call the crisis hotline from Morristown Memorial hospital at 973-540-0100. Outside this area call the Suicide & Crisis Hotline, 1-800-999-9999, 24 hours, 7 days a week.
