Dear This Really Isn't Like Me,

TeenHealthFX is sorry to hear that you have not been feeling like yourself lately, and can appreciate that this can feel very frustrating and scary. It is hard for us to know over the internet why this is happening. It is possible that you may have a mood disorder, such as depression, or it is possible that you are reacting to some kind of environmental stressor in your life.

What FX suggests is that you schedule a consultation with a mental health professional so that you can get a better idea of what is going on with you right now and what you can do so that you can feel more like your old self. TeenHealthFX also wants you to remember that being brave doesn’t mean ignoring what is going on and pretending like everything is okay when it isn’t – it means facing what is wrong and asking for the help and guidance you need right now to feel better.

If you live in northern New Jersey and need help finding a therapist you can call the Access Center from Atlantic Behavioral Health at 973-247-1400. Outside of this area you can log onto the US Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration website for referrals in your area.
