Dear 14 And My Life Is Going Down Hill,

TeenHealthFX thinks that it is very important for you to speak to a trusted adult about what you are going through as soon as possible. It is critical for you to become connected to at least a few adults around you who can be helpful to you. There are many issues you are coping with right now – suicidal feelings and urges, problematic family dynamics, substance abuse issues, loss issues regarding the five people in your life who died this past year, and having ADHD. You need to be meeting with mental health professionals who can provide the necessary treatment to address these issues so that you can start to feel better and begin the work to get your life back on track. There are adults around you who do care about your well-being – therapists and psychiatrists who will want to be helpful to you and other trusted adults (such as certain school staff member, extended family members, neighbors, coaches, or whomever else) who will be more than happy to be there for you to offer whatever guidance and support they can.
