Childhood Sexual Abuse / Question

Dear TeenHealthFX,
I am 15/m. One day when I was watching my baby sister are got super sexual and had nothing to masturbate with. I am VERY ashamed to say this, but I used my baby sister. I know this is really wrong and I am so sorry for it. What should I do though? Should I tell someone about this or just let it go? I really don't want to tell anyone because this is humiliating. Please help me.

TeenHealthFX recognizes that this must have been a very difficult question for you to ask. Although it will not be easy, it is very important that you let someone know what has happened. While you realize "this is really wrong", you were unable to control your impulses anyway. Without understanding your behavior there is a strong possibility that you will give into temptation again. A 15-year-old male typically has a strong sexual drive, but there are healthy and appropriate ways that it can be expressed.
Another reason that you should let your parents know what has happened is that your younger sister will need to process what has occurred with a trained therapist. If you used her physically to have sex with, she will also need to be evaluated medically. Initially your parents may be angry with you but in the long run they will recognize your remorse and realize that you need their help and support. Since this incident has impacted the whole family, therapy will also help the family cope with the incident and mend any damage that has occurred.
