Dear March 2008: Info On Teen Volunteer Programs,

Habitat for Humanity International: Youth Programs

TeenHealthFX encourages our readers to become involved in worthwhile volunteer and charitable causes. Giving and doing for others not only helps to build stronger communities, but it can help to foster your own personal development and growth. It is also a wonderful way to meet new people and stay connected to others in a positive way. One of many organizations that aims at helping people in need, and that has special programs for young people to be involved in, is Habitat for Humanity International.

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit housing organization aimed at eliminating poverty housing and homelessness around the world, and raising awareness about the need for all people to have decent housing. The organization was founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller, and has brought people of all backgrounds, races, and religions together to help families in need. HFHI has built more than 225,000 houses around the world, providing shelter to more than 1 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, and affordable shelter.

HFHI has a special Youth Programs department, aimed at getting those ages 5 to 25 involved in their worthy cause. Programs include the Global Village Youth Program, the International Program, Youth Immersion, and Youth United.
