Dear TeenHealthFX,

I just got my belly done and I have had it for a week on Saturday. It is a funny red and purple and I wanted to know if this will go away. All my friends say it will but I'm starting to think it won't. Please help.

Although new piercings can look odd and be discolored when they are healing (this can take several days to months), if the area is red, oozing, swollen or painful, go immediately to your doctor and get the piercing removed.  These symptoms can be a sign of infection that needs to be taken care of medically.
