Published: January 14, 2004

Dear TeenHealthFX,

Well, I have really bad acne, and I hate it. I feel so bad about myself. I hate it when people will look at me, even if it is my boyfriend. Please, any suggestions? I have tried almost everything. HELP!!!

Dear Bad Acne,

Having bad acne can be terribly frustrating.

We suggest you see a dermatologist. He or she will be better able to assess the problem and prescribe medication if necessary. There are medications available that can help treat acne. If you need help finding a dermatologist, call your local hospital for a referral.

In the meantime, FX recommends you read "What Do I Do About Acne?" for more information on how to take good care of your skin.
