I had an appendectomy two months ago. Lately I have noticed blood in my feces. Is it because of the operation?

It is impossible for us to determine the cause of blood in your feces over the internet, so we must encourage you to visit your doctor to have this symptom checked out.
Blood from the rectum can be caused by a minor issue like hemorrhoids (for more information on this, do a search of TeenHealthFX using keyword "Hemorrhoid") or a tiny tear in the anal tissues, or can be a sign that something wrong. Please make an appointment with your physician (either your primary care doctor or the surgeon who performed your operation) so that they can discuss this symptom that you have noticed.
They may ask you about amounts of blood, color, and when you notice it. It would be beneficial for you to keep a diary of when you notice the blood, how much, and the color so you can accurately answer these questions during your appointment.
