Aches & Pains / Question
Published: May 23, 2001

Dear TeenHealthFX,

I have been experiencing pain since June 2000. I have pain on my sides (underneath my ribs) and lower back. My stomach is nauseous all the time and sometimes I vomit. I am really confused and doctors don't know what it is. They thought kidney problems but now they say no. I either hurt or there is constant discomfort. Everybody is at a loss as to what it could be. I am 17 years old and I weigh a 100lbs. I have lost weight and keep losing because whenever I eat I get sick. I hope you can help.

Dear Pain Since June 2000,

It must be frustrating to be in that much pain without knowing what it is. You probably need to get a second opinion from another doctor if the doctors you are seeing now cannot diagnose your problem.

If you live in northern New Jersey you could call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973.971.6475 for an appointment with a doctor.
