Dear TeenHealthFX,

Is it safe to use Rogaine on your face in able to help facial hair grow?

Signed: Safe To Use Rogaine On Face

Dear Safe To Use Rogaine On Face,

The FDA has approved the use of Rogaine only for hair growth through application to the scalp. There have been no studies with this product and facial hair.

TeenHealthFX is assuming that you are curious because you are frustrated with your facial hair growth. Please know that puberty and facial hair growth is a very personal thing, and we cannot predict when you will get facial hair. As you may notice, different people have different amounts of hair on their faces (and their bodies). Hereditary plays a part in the amount of hair you can expect, but this may not be the only factor. Males may not finish puberty until their early 20's, so you may still have time to develop facial hair. Some men spend a significant amount of time removing hair from their face (by shaving) or grooming a moustache, goatee, or beard.

Again, TeenHealthFX does not recommend using Rogaine on your face or any other part of your body besides the area that it is was tested safe for.  Using this product on your face may cause irritation, breakouts, and itching.  If you have additional questions about hair growth, you should consult your doctor.
