Dear TeenHealthFX,

My boyfriend dumped me because I wouldn't have sex with him.

Dear No Sex, No Boyfriend,

That is to bad because it probably hurt you to feel rejected just because you would not have sex with him. TeenHealthFX wants you to know that we have great admiration for you for being able to do what you feel is right, despite the pressure. Your boyfriend obviously only saw your relationship in a one dimensional way. While FX understands that this must hurt, we also think that if all he wanted a relationship for was for sex, you are better off without him!

Only you can make the decision on whether a sexual relationship is right for you and under what conditions. Relationships are about friendship, trust and intimacy and there are many ways to be intimate without having sex.

When that day does come when you decide to become sexually active, please remember to go to a teen health center and take proper precautions, which means practicing safer sex.

Signed: TeenHealthFX
