Masturbation / Question

Dear TeenHealthFX,
Hey I'm 14 years old, I get very horny sometimes and I can't help it I just have to masturbate. My friends caught me when I was masturbating in the washroom at the hockey game and another friend caught me with my dick in the vacuum. My dick is very very small. I also think I am gay because I get boner when I talk to this hot guy and I had this dream one night that I was sucking his dick and I cummed in the dream and in real life. Why all of this?

Dear Public Masturbation,
Same sex dreams and attraction to the same sex are not unusual for someone your age and do not mean you are gay. Sexual orientation is biological and not determined by dreams or fantasies.
If you have looked at our website then you know that TeenHealthFX views masturbation as a normal healthy expression of ones sexuality. However, we are quite concerned about your compulsion to masturbate when the urge strikes you. If you had been caught masturbating in a public bathroom by someone other then your friend you could have been arrested. The charges could be especially serious if you had masturbated in front of a young child. In some states if convicted you would have to register as sex offender, which would follow you for the rest of your life.
Another concern is that you could cause serious injury to your penis by stimulating yourself with a vacuum cleaner. You could damage the skin or rupture a blood vessel in your penis. Also, your penis could get stuck.
Because you seem to be taking risks in order to stimulate yourself you may be exhibiting some signs of a sexual addiction. Your behavior has put you at risk for arrest and causing physical damage to yourself. TeenHealthFX feels that it would be in your best interest to seek out a therapist who specializes in sexual problems. The therapist would help you learn ways to control your sexual urges and be able to release them in an appropriate and healthy way.
If you would like help finding a therapist in northern New Jersey, you could call the Access Center from Atlantic Behavior Health at 888.247.1400.
