Male Puberty Issues / Question
Published: April 23, 2002

Dear TeenHealthFX,

I've had some anal pain and my right testicle has slight pain often recently. Could this be a side effect of puberty and all these hormones in my body or is it something that needs too be checked out?

Dear Puberty Problems,

It is something that needs to be checked out. There are many hormonal changes that go on through puberty, but they should not necessarily be painful. The only way to really understand what is going on with you is to be examined by a doctor. The doctor would be able to tell you what is causing your discomfort after he/she has a chance to check you out. While your there why not ask your doctor what are some of the changes you should expect during puberty and what is normal and what should concern you. This way as new developments in your body occur, you will be aware of what is going on.
