I have been wondering this for a while. Can you have sex while you are on your period? If so wouldn't it be gross with the blood?

Dear Sex During Period,
Yes, you can have sex during your period. Whether or not you decide to have sex during your period is a decision only you and your partner can make. This said, sex during your period does not protect you against pregnancy or STDs. If you decide to have sex during your period, it is important that you practice safer sex in order to prevent the transmission of STD's including HIV as well as to prevent pregnancy.
