Pubic Hair / Question

Dear TeenHealthFX,
I've learned throughout my school years and all my teen magazines that pubic hair is supposed to be black and curly. Well, mine is black, but it is straight. Is that normal? I thought maybe it is straight because I have straight hair on my head. Please help me.

It sounds completely normal! Each person is different. Although most people's pubic hair is dark (not necessarily black hair) and curly, it is perfectly fine and normal for someone to have light pubic hair that is straight or any mix of that, like dark that is straight as you described.
