I LIVE AT HOME WITH MY PARENTS AND LATELY ACTUALLY FOR AWHILE NOW I'VE BEEN HAVING SEXUAL THOUGHTS ABOUT MY MOM. WHEN I THINK ABOUT HER I GET HIGHLY AROUSED AND I ALWAYS END UP MASTURBATING. SOMETIMES I USE A PAIR OF HER PANTIES SHE'S WORN TO HELP ME CUM. I EVEN EAVES DROP WHEN SHE CHANGES. I REALLY WANT TO DO STUFF WITH HER. SHOULD I TELL HER??

FX is concerned about you. We understand that these feelings can be confusing. As a family member, your mother may be someone very close to you who has probably been very caring and nurturing towards you. It is understandable that you feel loving towards her. However, it sounds like your feelings for her are getting mixed up with sexual feelings. You probably would not have written if you did not feel that acting on these feelings would be inappropriate. Having a sexual relationship with a family member is called incest. Incest is illegal, and because our culture has such strong taboos against it, it can also be emotionally harmful.
We suggest you speak with someone about these feelings. You can tell your mom that you're having disturbing thoughts and want to see a professional or you can talk to a counselor at your school, or a doctor. If your not comfortable bringing this up with someone you know and you live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973.971.6475. Outside of this area, you can call your local teen health center or log onto Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration website for information and referrals in your area.
