Dear TeenHealthFX,
Hello! I was wondering what Kegel Exercises are. My friends talk about them and I am looking for a satisfactory answer. Please help. Second, I have a dripping penis. Sometimes, my penis drips. I masturbate sometimes. It never hurts to pee or during an erection.

Dear Kegel Exercises,
TeenHealthFX is concerned that you say your penis "drips". You did not say what kind of substance was coming out of your penis, but any discharge that has an odor may be the sign of a problem. Also, if you are leaking pee (urine), that is also a concern. It is important to discuss the "dripping" with a doctor. If you live in northern NJ, call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973-971-6475 to find a doctor. Outside of NJ, call your local hospital for a referral.
Here is a description of Kegel Exercises:
Kegel exercises are done to strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor to improve urethral and/or rectal sphincter functioning (they were originally designed to help control incontinence in women after childbirth). Some reported benefits for men include firmer longer lasting erections, ejaculation control as well as intense orgasms. You can find the correct muscle to contract by attempting to stop the flow of urine during urination. You may notice that your penis feels like it is moving closer to the body during the contraction phase. These exercises can be done anywhere, and it only takes a few minutes a day for this muscle to become stronger. Begin by doing a set of twenty-five working up to two sets daily. Start with inhaling and flexing the muscle. Hold for a few seconds and exhale as you release the flex. Technique is an important factor in doing a proper Kegel. Make sure that you are not flexing your buttocks or abdomen.
