It is okay for a girl to masturbate when she has her period. In fact, some even find it helpful to relieve menstrual cramps.
While there is nothing unhealthy about masturbating during menstruation, it is important to keep the following in mind:
ยท If you are using a tampon, make sure to remove the tampon before masturbating if there will be any kind of penetration during masturbation (such as inserting your fingers into the vagina) as the tampon and string could potentially be pushed too far up into the vagina for a girl to be able to get out on her own.
