Dear TeenHealthFX,
I started taking the pill at the age of 13, I was taking Demulen 1/35-28, I took it for about 6-8 months, and was wondering if it will affect the growth of my breasts at all?

Dear The Pill & Breast Growth,
Birth control pill have been known to produce various side effects. The pill is an oral form of the female hormones estrogen and progesterone, and your body will change in response to the new levels within your body.
It is normal to have temporary breast swelling and changes in the shape of the breasts due to the pill. It is also common for your breast to get a little fuller and more sensitive around your period. Even if you have not taken the pill, your breasts may be sore and have swelling because they continue to develop into your late teens. The changes that you are experiencing are completely normal, but certainly take time to get use to!
If you do not feel comfortable, or you are having any other side effects while taking the pill such as nausea, pain or break through bleeding you should talk to your doctor. There are many types of birth control pills and methods available and there is a right method for everyone.
