Dear TeenHealthFX,

I'm 14 and hate when all my friends talk about performing different sexual performances. Can you please give me a clue on some of the following things? Blowjobs, hand jobs, eating each other out, eating out and steps on how to make out. Please try to give as much detail as possible. Thanks FX you guys are the best!!!

Dear 14 & Confused About Sexual Performance,

The best advice that TeenHealthFX can give you on making out would be to take it slow. You are certainly not the only teen who is a bit in the dark about these sexual performances. The friends that are discussing these actions are probably no more advanced than you are, so do not feel left out or behind in any way. Everyone develops sexually at different rates and there really is no rush.

Here are some clarifications on some of the terms you asked about:

Hand Job: This can be masturbation on a man using hands to stimulate his penis with ejaculation as the goal.

Fingering: Touching a woman's sexual organs externally or internally. It can also be masturbation on a woman.

Blow Job: Oral sex on a man. A man's partner can bring him to sexual climax causing an orgasm using mouth or tongue.

Eating Each Other Out: Oral sex performed on each other at the same time.

Eating Out: Oral sex performed on a woman. Using lips and tongue to stimulate a woman's vagina.

These might sound a bit intimidating - or you might find that you are feeling curious about them - but either way it does not mean that you need to run out and try them with the first person you go out with. You will see that once you find a partner that you are comfortable with and can communicate well with these actions may come more easily for you. However, if you do not feel comfortable performing any of them do not let your partner force, pressure or intimidate you into doing anything that you do not want to. These sexual acts are all done somewhat differently by different people, and making out is a totally personal action. Above all, the most important part is making sure that when you are ready to partake in sexual actions of any kind to have Safer Sex!!! Always wear a condom and also communicate with your partner about their past sexual history. Be safe!
