Dear I Scrub My Face and Still Break Out. How Can I Get Rid of Pimples?,

TeenHealthFX understands how frustrating this can be. Acne can be challenging to get rid of and can’t be scrubbed away. In fact,  KidsHealth explains that scrubbing your face can actually cause more acne and irritation. Majority of teenagers get acne because of hormonal changes and can be difficult to get rid of without help from a doctor or dermatologist (a doctor who specializes in skin issues).

In the meantime, it is important to use products that are noncomedogenic which means it will not clog pores and can help reduce the amount of new acne. Many over-the-counter products containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide can also help. Make sure to follow the instructions correctly to avoid over drying and skin irritation. Do not pick at, squeeze, or pop pimples as they can cause more pimples, infections, and scarring.
