Dear Is It Really Safe to Take Off My Mask?,

TeenHealthFX understands how confusing this can be. The CDC explains that people who are fully vaccinated can take off their masks and resume most normal activities. A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their single dose (J&J shot) or second dose (Pfizer or Moderna).

Based on the information you provided, it sounds like you live in a state that is still requiring people to wear masks even if they are fully vaccinated. Especially since the CDC and state regulations are not the same, it is important to follow the rules of where you live.

In addition, even if you are vaccinated, you can still keep your mask on indoors or in crowded places if that helps make you feel comfortable or is required by the establishment. We hope this helps!
