Dear My Boyfriend Has Chlamydia. what Do I Do?,

TeenHealthFX understands how hard it can be when you do not know what to do. Even though condoms can prevent the spread of sexually transmitted infections, there is still a risk of getting it especially since Chlamydia is present.  The CDC explains that Chlamydia can be cured through medication when diagnosed and treated properly.  We strongly recommend waiting until he finishes the medicine and is considered Chlamydia free before engaging in any sexual activity.

TeenHealthFX would also like to mention the importance of practicing safe sex. We encourage all teens to use condoms every time they engage in any type of sexual activity. Condoms are only 98% in preventing the transmission of sexually transmitted infections when used correctly and on every sexual encounter.

If you need help finding a doctor and live in northern New Jersey, you can call the  Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973-971-5199 for an appointment with an adolescent medicine specialist.
