What is a Realistic Length of a Teenage Penis?

Dear TeenHealth FX,
What is a realistic length of a teenage penis?

Dear ,

TeenHealth FX wants you to know that curiosity about this is normal for teenagers. All body parts come in different shapes, sizes, color, and appearance. Penis length can also be hereditary (traits like height, eye color, hair color, etc. that are passed on from our parents), and it can change throughout puberty. Puberty for boys usually begins around 9 years old and can continue until 14 or older sometimes.

Although everyone is different, the average erect penis length in the U.S. is 5.1 inches (U.S. average is 3.5 inches when it is not). But TeenHealth FX does not want you to be stuck on the research.

TeenHealthFX recommends that all teenage boys have regular testicular exams to ensure that they are developing properly, and no health issues are showing up. These exams are a great time to ask your doctor any questions you may have about your penis health.

If you do not have a doctor and live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973-971-5199 for an appointment with an adolescent medicine specialist.
