How Do I Know If I Am in a Good Relationship?
A good or healthy relationship has many qualities to it. For example, trust, mutual respect, honesty, and good communication are key qualities to ensure that both you and your boyfriend are treating either other well. Since you do not specifically explain what your boyfriend is getting mad at, it is hard to say whether or not it is a healthy relationship. However, here are some important things to consider:
Do you feel respected and understood? Feeling respected and understood are very important when it comes to mutual respect in a relationship. If you do not feel respected, that is a red flag of an unhealthy relationship.
Have you told him how you feel? If your boyfriend does not know how you feel, he may not realize that you feel bothered when he gets annoyed at “dumb things.” If you have talked to him an in an open and honest conversation and it still bothers you, this could also be a red flag of an unhealthy relationship.
Do you feel pressured or feel like your relationship is unfair? If yes, these are also red flags. Relationships should be a give-and-take and both people should feel like they have equal say in the relationship.
Do you feel like he is controlling you or getting mad at you for seeing or talking to friends? If yes, this also a warning sign of an unhealthy relationship. A boyfriend/girlfriend should never tell you who or what you can do or control your actions/words.
If you are experiencing any of these red flags or ones not mentioned, we strongly recommend reconsidering your relationship and if you believe it is a healthy one.
We hope this helps!
