Circular Bruises on My Left Breast
Since you do not mention any other symptoms, and it does not sound like you have found lumps in the breast, then it is likely nothing of concern. The bruises are probably the result of some kind of injury. Perhaps you were injured playing sports, bumped up against something, or got a bruise from carrying a heavy backpack or bag that was bumping up against your chest on the left side.
The Mayo Clinic recommends checking in with a medical professional when you have a bruise if you:
- Notice very painful swelling in the bruised area
- Are still experiencing pain three days after a seemingly minor injury
- Have frequent, large or painful bruises, particularly if your bruises appear on your trunk, back or face, or seem to develop for no known reasons
- Have easy bruising and a history of significant bleeding, such as during a surgical procedure
- Notice a lump (hematoma) form over the bruise
- Are experiencing abnormal bleeding elsewhere, such as from your nose or gums
- Suddenly begin bruising, but have no history of bruising
- Have a family history of easy bruising or bleeding
If you experience any of the above, you could schedule an appointment with your primary care physician, a gynecologist or an adolescent medicine specialist. You could even check in with your school nurse about it the next time you are at school.

A Planned Parenthood health center is a good option if you have concerns about cost or confidentiality issues. You can also contact your insurance company for a list of in-network providers.
