Is Brown Discharge Normal?
TeenHealthFX wants to assure you that a dark brown discharge can be normal especially if you never had your period before. Heathline states, when the brown discharge is only present when you wipe, it generally is not a cause for concern. It may be a sign that you will start your period soon. It is a good idea to make sure that you have pads available at home or with you when you are out, so you are prepared.

If you are sexually active or have any painful symptoms such as pain urinating, a fever, extreme cramping, or if you feel it may be abnormal, we recommend you go see a medical professional as soon as possible to get checked for an infection or other medical issue.
