What Is A Menstrual Cup?
A menstrual cup is a small, flexible silicone cup that is inserted into the vagina during a girl’s period. It’s used to catch menstrual flow instead of using a tampon or pad. Every 4-12 hours (depending on the flow), the cup must be removed, emptied, rinsed, and reinserted. When inserted correctly it cannot be felt and should not interfere with normal activity.
There are many different brands and sizes available and it may take some time to find the right fit.
The use of a menstrual cup is a personal decision and what works for one person may not work for another. More information on the menstrual can be found on the WebMD website.
