Is It Normal to Have Dark Brown Hair on my Inner Thighs?
It is completely normal to have dark brown hair on the inner thighs. Part of going through puberty for girls is the growth of hair around the pubic area (which can extend to the inner thighs for some women) and under the arms. This hair growth usually begins after your breasts start to develop, but for some girls the hair growth can happen first. It is also normal for hair in these area to start out as just a few fine hairs and then get darker and curlier with time.
If you are bothered by this hair on your inner thighs, you could always consider shaving it. To get some tips on shaving, you could check in with a female parent or guardian, or you could check out Shaving Tips for Teen Girls by WebMD.
If you have any additional questions or concerns about the hair growth you could start by checking in with a female parent or guardian. If that person is unable to answer your questions or has some kind of concern, then you could talk to your primary care physician or an adolescent medicine doctor about it.
If you don't have a doctor and live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973-971-5199 for an appointment with an adolescent medicine specialist or contact your local teen health center. You can also contact your insurance company for a list of in-network providers.
